We are recruiting a Transport Compliance Manager on behalf of our customer who are based in the Huntingdon area. As a Transport Compliance Manager you will be responsible for the continuous and effective management of all transport operations. As well asoverseeing the compliance department to ensure a leading level of compliance.

As a Transport Compliance Manager your responsibilities will be to oversee the management of the following systems and procedures;

Drivers

  • Ensuring drivers hold the appropriate licence and any additional qualifications
  • Maintaining a system to ensure regular licence checks are carried out
  • Drivers hours and working time records must be kept for a period of; 12+ months for driving hours and 24+ months for working time and must be made available upon request;
  • Ensuring compliance with the Driving Hours (EU or Domestic Hours rules) and Road Transport Working Time Directive Rules;
  • Recording of drivers duty, driving time and rest breaks to ensure availability during the relevant period
  • Downloading and storing data from the vehicle digital tacho unit (at least every 90 days) and from the drivers' tacho cards (at least every 28 days);
  • Adequately track and record all drivers training including competency to operate all relevant vehicles and equipment, inclusive of drivers CPC, ADR (where applicable) and accreditation specific requirements
  • Tracking and communicating drivers defect reporting records;
  • Monitoring all driver and mobile worker breaks and periods of daily and weekly rest

Vehicles

  • Inducting all new vehicles on the fleet and exit any vehicles being removed from fleet.
  • Ensuring that vehicle maintenance records are retained for a minimum of 15 months
  • Maintaining all fleet vehicles tax status
  • Provide a maintenance planner, complete and display appropriately, setting preventative maintenance inspection dates at least 6 months in advance and to include the Annual Test and other testing or calibration dates;
  • Ensuring that the number of vehicles and trailers kept at operating sites does not exceed the maximum numbers authorised at each centre.
  • Ensuring that unauthorised operating centres is not used in any traffic area
  • Making sure all vehicles and trailers are kept in a fit and roadworthy condition and taken out of service when not
  • Maintaining and track all reported defects, record in writing or in a format which is readily accessible and repaired promptly;
  • Assisting with vehicles meeting the requirements of the FORS Silver accreditation scheme
  • Ensuring vehicles and towed equipment are made available for safety inspections, service, repair and statutory testing;

General

  • Managing safety inspections and other statutory testing and are executed within the notified Olicence maintenance intervals (ISO weeks);
  • Managing audit and review compliance systems to ensure that they are effective;
  • Review any shortcomings such as prohibitions;
  • Ensuring that relevant business changes are notified in accordance with operator licence requirements;
  • Notifying the Traffic Commissioner of all convictions
  • Keep up to date on relevant changes in standards, legislation and best practice;
  • Record, investigate and respond to all transportrelated infringements
  • Manage and maintain the company's Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) and Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) accreditations.
  • National CPC Holder is essential
  • Previous experience in a similar role required
  • Previous management experience is required
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK Transport and working time regulations
