LSE Fellow in Psychology
Salary from £40,229 to £48,456 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £52,095 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a fixed term appointment for two years to cover academic starting 2023/2024 and 2024/2025**LSE's Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science is committed to developing the School's role as a world leader in the researching and teaching of psychological and behavioural science. In the coming years, the department will become a hub for the 50+ psychological and behavioural researchers in other disciplines across the LSE as well as a cutting-edge centre of expertise in its own right. The LSE Fellow will contribute principally to the postgraduate programmes in Social and Public Communication and Social and Cultural Psychology
The LSE Fellow will:
- Contribute principally to the postgraduate programmes in Social and Public Communication and Social and Cultural Psychology. This includes teaching on core courses and a specialist course on Political Psychology, marking, supervising independent research projects, conducting office hours and mentoring the students throughout the academic year. They will also engage in limited teaching on the BSc in Psychological and Behavioural Science.
- Initiate and implement community building activities for the students at department level.
- Work closely with Programme Directors, Deputy Head of Teaching, Programme Managers and Graduate Teaching Assistants.
- Contribute to the intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing outstanding quality research, engaging in high quality teaching as instructed by the Head of Department and Programme Directors.
- Be expected to work under minimum supervision and be flexible.
- Participate in the School and wider Department activities.
Be embarking on developing a coherent research strategy in psychology and aiming to produce outstanding quality publications in well recognised leading peer reviewed outlets.
- Completed or be close to completing a PhD in Social Psychology by the post start date.
- The ability to work in close partnership with fellow teachers including on a oneonone basis and in small groups, and to provide effective support, as necessary,
- A developing research record in Social Psychology

- An LSE Fellowship is intended to be an entry route to an academic career and is deemed by the School to be a career development position.
