D & J Campbell LTD are a family run general haulage company, located in North Connel, Oban in the West Highlands of Scotland.

With three generations of knowledge and experience, our fleet has been able to grow and thrive.


We are constantly investing in our fleet to ensure the highest standard of service is provided to our loyal and dedicated customers.


An exciting opportunity has become available, and we are looking to recruit an experienced Master Technician / Workshop Foreman / Supervisor at our North Connel workshop.


Your responsibilities:


  • Consult with our Director, Transport Manager, Office Manager, Drivers and Admin Department
  • Leading the workshop
  • Supervising the team of HGV Technicians and allocating the workload accordingly
  • Adhere to Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality processes to ensure we are always compliant.
  • Diagnostic work, MOT preparation and general inspections and servicing for both HGV's and trailers
  • Ensure that the facilities and workshops are always maintained in a clean, tidy, and safe condition.
  • Ensuring that all personnel employed within the workshop receive correct training/instruction in respect of all equipment/machinery they will be required to maintain, operate, or drive, including HGV vehicles.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are presented back to the driver in a clean condition.
  • Ensure downtime is kept to a minimum with proactive planning.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
  • Strong management skills
  • A full and valid UK Driving Licence (HGV desirable, but not essential)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a busy Workshop.
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Detail orientated.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Hours/Pay:


  • Working on a 4 on 4 off rota basis, that includes Saturdays and Sundays
  • Days on will include on
- call duties to cover out of hours and contracted call outs.

  • Competitive rate of pay dependent on knowledge and experience
