**Wakefield Girls' High School is looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Head of English to lead and inspire a team of committed and experienced staff.
The department enjoys strong examination results at both GCSE and A level. The department benefits from specialised resources and has a growing portfolio of impressive educational visits. We deliver our curriculum in small classes, have high standards of student behaviour and strong parental support.

The department is composed of a committed and friendly team and we are looking for someone who demonstrates a genuine love of literature, language and learning to lead them on the next stage of the department's journey.

The Head of Department is responsible to the Head and Governors for the smooth and efficient running of her / his department.

It is important that the Head of Department plays a full, positive and active role within the school.
