As Assistant Director, Operations, you will play a vital role in enhancing our public realm, leading critical front-line services that residents, businesses and visitors value and showcase Ipswich as a vibrant, thriving town.

Part of the council's corporate management team, as Assistant Director, Operations your contribution to the life of the town will be broad and varied, providing you with the chance to shape and transform services to improve quality and customer experience and secure financial sustainability.


From our 1200 acres of parks and open spaces to parking management, waste collection and recycling and cleansing services, your leadership of these highly visible services will help us showcase Ipswich and create an environment of which residents can be proud.

You will also drive the commercial performance of East Anglia's largest seated capacity receiving theatre and our iconic Town Hall.

Free and low-cost events, including the country's largest free music festival, Ipswich Music Day, will also be part of your portfolio.

At Ipswich, we are committed to a carbon-neutral future for the council.

You will lead the delivery of our "carbon neutral by design" approach as well as supporting communities, businesses and residents to reduce emissions.

You will also lead the delivery of our Customer Access Strategy as part of our new operating model.
