The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS) are looking for a highly trustworthy, hardworking, and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and dedicated educations team at Lincolnshire Showground.


The Lincolnshire Showground is home to the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a Charity whose main objectives are to promote food, farming and the countryside in an environmentally sustainable way.

We provide a year-round Education programme that delivers unique hands-on learning experiences for young people and the teachers that influence them.


Reporting to the Education Development Manager, you will be involved with the planning and delivery of the LAS Education programme and events including Farmhouse Breakfast Week, Lincolnshire Day, Tractors into Schools and will support with promoting careers within the agricultural industry.

A key part of the role will be assisting with the development, promotion and support of the Schools Challenge at the Lincolnshire Show; organise and deliver a varied programme for the IMPACT Group, as well as supporting with the development of new educational initiatives.

The successful applicant will need to be a motivated and enthusiastic team player.

The Education team work alongside all departments of the business including marketing and facilities so experience of working well in a team, along with being able to manage your own workload is essential.

The role will involve working with learners across all key stages. Experience of working within an educational environment and knowledge of the school system would be beneficial for this role. You will need to possess good administration skills and be a good communicator.

Line Manager Education Development Manager


Job Purpose
Coordinate and deliver the Society's charitable activities.

Working with farmers, teachers, educators and businesses alike to provide the best possible food and farming learning experience for children and adults and supporting the wider farming industry.


Principal Duties

  • Responsible for the development and delivery of projects and events, as part of the charitable remit of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society
  • Organising events, meetings and courses, from leaflet design, promotion and registration of attendees to postevent evaluation
  • To liaise with colleagues from across the business to deliver events, meetings and courses
  • To liaise with and form relationships with schools, farmers and public sector organisations with a view to the developing the Society's charitable activities.
  • To represent the Society at meetings and conferences where appropriate.
  • To manage budgets and project outputs and report regularly to the Education Development Manager
  • Promote and support with the Schools Challenge at the Lincolnshire Show
  • To work with other organisations and develop partnerships to promote farming and the countryside
  • To develop new ideas to enhance the charitable activities of the Society
  • To provide regular written and verbal progress reports
  • To seek funding for projects in partnership with other organisations
  • To liaise with senior management to promote our charitable activities
  • To draft social media content to promote events and activities
  • To manage the operational delivery of education events
  • Support the work of the Society's farming networks as required

Job Description - Tasks include:

Information and Communications:


  • Develop productive working relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society promoting its missions and values.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Education strategy.
  • Attend Education Committee Meetings.

Health and Safety:


  • Comply with all rules and requirements detailed in the current edition of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society Employee Health and Safety booklet.

Special Factors:


  • The job requires occasional overtime, with weekends and flexible working, particularly on the buildup to the Lincolnshire Show, Countryside Lincs and other internal LAS events.

Person Specification

Preferred Skills/Experience:


  • DBS approved.
  • Experience of working with children.
  • Confident in the use of IT including Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation
