Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic and visionary newly qualified and experienced midwives to join the established team of midwives at Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust.
The applicants should have proven experience in all aspects of midwifery care and have the ability to work with women in antenatal care, labour, and postnatally.
You would be responsible for the provision of high quality, effective midwifery care, on a day to day basis working within all areas of the maternity unit.
The post holder must be flexible, innovative and resourceful with excellent organisational skills, a team player with high personal standards of care.
As a Bank Midwife you will need to cover vacant ad-hoc shifts and work throughout all clinical areas. Areas will include labour ward, maternity theatres, midwifery led unit and maternity inpatient ward.
Working via the Bank gives you the flexibility to get a real work life balance and work when it suits you.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond.
The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.
We employ almost 5,000 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.
The Trust is also part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its Be Safe Be EquiPPEd campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE.
The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients.
At Mid Cheshire, we value our staff and appreciate that in order to give our patients the best quality, compassionate care, we also need to look after our colleagues.
The post holder will carry out a range of clinical skills in midwifery practice within the team, whilst working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to give individualised care to meet the needs of women and their families.
The midwife will have decision-making autonomy within guidelines and professional codes of practice, and will participate in the leadership, education, development and supervision of the clinical team.
