Role Summary


IAMH provide residential services and housing support services to individuals with mental illness and who may also have underlying drug/alcohol issues.

We recognise our support workers as having an important input in encouraging and enabling our client group to live independently within our residential unit and within the community.


You will be required too:
Promote a participative recovery and inclusive focused relationships with our service users.


Provide quality support services to clients through effective planning, monitoring, evaluation and review of their identified needs in partnership with them.


To ensure that IAMH services provided are delivered to the highest standard and that our values of respect, dignity and equality are met.


To support clients within our residential unit and in their own homes to realise their own potential, promote decision making and independence.


Essential responsibilities and duties
Participate with clients, and other members of the staff team in the assessment and implementation

of individual support plans.

Update, monitor and review support plans with them on a regular basis.

Work within the organisation's policies, procedures, guidelines, National Care Standards and SSC (Scottish Social Services Council.

Provide practical assistance with independent living skills encouraging responsibility and personal choice.

Assist clients to develop positive mental health and well-being strategy.

Adhere to organisational policies, aims and objectives.

Work as part of an established team within Residential and Housing Support Services.

Assist with establishing and maintaining effective links within the local community.


Participate in mandatory training as directed by the organisation and all other relevant training as identified through personal development reviews to perform duties competently.


Essential Attributes
Knowledge of mental illness and an understanding of factors that affect mental health and well-being.

Demonstrate a wide range of interpersonal skills when working with our client group including : being open-minded, non-judgemental, empathetic, respectful, honest, patient whilst promoting independence, actively listening, displaying appropriate body language and a professional approach

Communicate effectively and professionally.

Contribute to maintaining accurate records and store accordingly in line with GDPR data protection.

Contribute as an effective team member.

Work flexible hours as and when required in keeping with the organisational demands of the service.

Ability to reflect on own practice and experiences and those of others.

£21,000.00 per year
