    Technical Support Engineer Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    1. Providing Expert Technical Assistance: Offer expert technical assistance to the UK & European distributor network via phone, email, and in person.
    2. Distributor Training and Support: Conduct distributor training, attend joint customer visits, and support sales teams with technical expertise.
    3. Testing Program Development: Develop and implement testing programs, generating supportive technical data for service projects.
    4. Technical Support Channel Management: Manage technical support channels, including helpline calls and email inquiries.
    5. Presentations and Training Materials: Prepare technical presentations and training materials, host webinars, and lead hands-on demonstrations.
    6. Product Quality Complaints Resolution: Support the resolution of product quality complaints.
    7. Industry Representation: Represent the company at exhibitions and industry events as required.

    Quality Control & Document Management

    The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

    1. Quality Control Coverage: Arrange and provide quality control (QC) coverage when necessary, including during staff absences.
    2. Document Creation and Management: Create and manage technical datasheets and documentation.
    3. Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to produce technical articles, blogs, brochures, and PR materials.
    4. Case Studies and Sales Tools: Develop case studies, application profiles, and product sales tools.

    Technical Support Engineer Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    1. Science-Based Degree or Engineering Background: A science-based degree (e.g., Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering) or an engineering background.
    2. Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
    3. Full Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence (required for travel to distributor sites and events).
    4. Excellent Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
    5. Proactive and Customer-Focused: This role is ideal for a proactive, customer-focused individual who enjoys problem-solving and providing technical expertise in a dynamic, international environment.
    6. Lab-to-Customer Transition Experience: Experience working either in a lab looking to transition into a customer-focused role or currently in a client/customer function.
