Job summary:
His Majesty's Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdom's Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, Sandown Class Mine Hunter Vessels and 43 Cdo Royal Marines.
It is an operational support and maintenance base, within the Navy Command TLB and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites.
HMNB Clyde's primary purpose is to provide engineering and logístical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD).
This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year.
RNAD Coulport is responsible for the storage, processing, maintenance and issue of the Trident Weapon System and the ammunitioning of all submarine-embarked tactical weapons.
HM Naval Base Clyde is a Nuclear Authorised site which complies with the full suite of nuclear authorised conditions of which Authorised Condition 10 (Training), is pertinent to this role.
The Business Directorate at HMNB Clyde provides an overarching governance function a broad range of business functions and specialist professional help to support the respective output areas
Part of the Business Directorate, the Clyde Training & Development (CTD) team deliver and support site wide training to entitled HMNB Clyde staff, both service and civilian.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description:
This role includes:
Management of a small administrative team responsible for the delivery and facilitation of HMNB Clyde training including oversight of training administration processes in support of nuclear, mandated and functional training in accordance with AC10/AC12.
Implementation of Learning and Development policies and strategies, disseminating information and providing guidance to all staff within Clyde (MOD, Civilian and Service, Industry Partners) using the full range of platforms.
Market Testing of training providers to ensure value for money against training requirement is achieved through the L2020 framework and CP&F contracts.
Person specification:
- The Training Officer (TO) requires a high level of customer service and interpersonal skills will be required. The use of IT systems including the Training Administration For Management Information System (TAFMIS) system and MODNet for daytoday business will necessitate a good standard of IT literacy especially the use of standard MS Office packages. The Training Officer (TO) Should be able to prioritise effectively and have clear communication skills. There may be occasions where you are required to attend/support offsite training. The TO role is an integral part of the training team therefore a flexible approach to workload and supporting of colleagues are key to undertaking this role. A key attribute is being flexible in working practices and timings as some courses require early starts or late finishes as well as being able to adapt to changing workloads and practices.
