Description

To provide an efficient switchboard service across the Trust, receiving internal and external calls and responding to various alarm calls/alerts.

To provide a courteous meet and greet service at the main hospital reception


Switchboard:


You will provide an efficient and courteous switchboard service across the Trust, dealing with internal and external calls from staff and members of the public, directing calls to relevant destination.


You will operate a staff bleep system to ensure staff receive clear and concise information for various scenarios and receive and respond to various alarms/alerts eg crash calls, infant security alarms, fire alarms.

You will meet and greet visitors and provide clear directions to their destination.

Some administrative tasks are included in this role.

Switchboard:

To provide an efficient and courteous switchboard service across the Trust.

Dealing with internal and external calls from staff and members of the public, directing calls to relevant destination.

Operate staff bleep system to ensure staff receive clear and concise information for various scenarios.

Receive and respond to various alarms/alerts eg crash calls, infant security alarms, fire alarms.

Operate on-line directory system.

Update on call rotas as required and ensure any changes made are highlighted to subsequent shift.

Work flexibly to provide cover for switchboard colleagues.


Complete relevant handover paperwork at beginning and end of each shift and relevant documentation required during a shift eg if crash team is called.

Report any faults on extensions, bleep system, etc. including invoking business continuity plans when appropriate.


Reception:


To provide an effective reception/front of house service dealing promptly and courteously with all reception queries, ensuring accurate information is supplied at all times.

Meet and greet visitors and provide clear directions to their destination.

Follow strict procedure to issue concessionary car park tickets and capture all relevant information.

Undertake printing, photocopying and general administrative duties as required for the Estates & Facilities Management Team.


Ensure the reception area and general front of house is kept clean and tidy at all times, liaising with the domestic services duty supervisor to arrange ad hoc cleaning/portering as required.
