Travelzoo is seeking a Head of Sales, UK [Travel] to join us in London to be responsible for overseeing all hotel sales activities and leading a team of Sales Managers [Travel] ensuring consistent performance against targets on top of managing up.
The Head of Sales, UK [Travel] will interact closely with and report directly to the General Manager, UK.Do you feel
- Motivated to manage a portfolio of existing accounts and lead business development projects to identify and develop new business opportunities
- Dedicated to improving our voucher and packaging business for the assigned territories in the UK
- Driven to develop strategic sales opportunities
- Confident to work closely with the General Manager, UK on strategy and budgeting for the department and report key business metrics
- Keen to attract, retain, motivate, coach & develop Sales Managers for high performance (ongoing coaching & training)
- Able to set ambitious yet realistic professional goals for Sales Managers
- Capable of managing the team's performance against key revenue drivers to deliver the department goals
- Empowered to provide daytoday management and leadership to the hotel sales team, based in London and Manchester
- Determined to spend time in the market on sales calls with the team meeting clients, pitching, networking, and identifying new opportunities
- Responsible to ensure the team is supported in achieving individual quarterly revenue targets and goals
- Committed to manage and mediate conflict as appropriate
- Inspired to create a KPIdriven, motivated sales culture while retaining the content quality and diversity that engages Travelzoo's audiences across all platforms
- Assertive to identify new strategic clients, including groups and chains, and implement an effective sales strategy to build a growing client base
- Eager to work with the Production and Publishing teams to ensure continued focus on winning content, efficient pitchtopublish process, and maximize revenue per deal
- Perseverant to use the CRM and reporting systems to monitor performance and drive resultsoriented behaviour
- Willing to build strong crossteam and interdepartmental relationships to maximize opportunity and ensure efficiency in the way the business works together
You are ideally
- A professional with at least 10 years of experience as Sales Manager in the hotel industry
- Fully sufficient in Revenue Management and familiar with concepts such as RevPar, ADR and Yielding
- Able to lead and motivate sales team in a highly resultsfocused, fastpaced environment
- Experienced in (project) leadership and team building
- Highly familiar with online CRM tools such as Salesforce to organize sales activities, reporting and forecasting
- Excellent in planning, developing, and executing online sales strategies
- Confident and efficient in coldcalling senior executives at hotels and hotel chains
- An outstanding organizational and interpersonal communicator with particular emphasis on presentation, sales expertise, and negotiation techniques
- Strong in the negotiation of discounts and flash sales offers
- Customer
- Focused on high performance with a solid workethic with and a true handson approach
- Degree educated
- Fluent in English, other European languages are beneficial
