Covering:
Customer sites across Northern Ireland & ROI


Salary:
Circa £45k basic, car, laptop, phone, healthcare & other benefits


JOB PURPOSE


Our client innovates, designs, manufactures and installs their own range of world-class CNC machinery that is used within the uPVC double glazing industry.

They are the market leader in supplying fully automatic sawing and machining centres for the preparationof window frames, doors and conservatories.


As the Service Engineer you are the customer-facing representative of the client; you are responsible for delivering the highest level of service to its customers and your role is regarded as one of the most important in the organisation.

The Service Engineermust be the expert on all aspects of the client's range of machinery. This involves installing machinery, training operators, maintaining machinery, diagnosing and repairing faults.


As the representative in the field, you are encouraged to feedback ideas and design improvements, plus any potential sales leads for the client's products or spare parts / consumables.


Person Profile:


  • You will enjoy meeting people, be reliable, trustworthy and wellpresented
  • You should be confidential, demonstrate integrity and discretion with company knowledge
  • Experience in field servicing of automated machinery (ideally window machinery, but also similar machinery e.g. CNC machine tools, packaging machinery, robotic handling, etc.)
  • Be able to deal with customer/members of the public on a daily basis
  • Hold a current full driving licence, not exceeding 3 points
  • Be able to work under your own initiative, but also contribute to the wider team
  • Based in either Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland
  • Possess good verbal communication skills
  • Physically fit enough to carry out a significant amount of manual handling
  • Able to spend nights away from home, sometimes with short notice

Primary Duties:


  • To provide a professional and efficient repair and maintenance service to customers
  • Provide customer satisfaction through excellent workmanship and attitude
  • Facilitate machine installation and moves
  • Fault diagnosis, problem solving and corrective actions
  • Electrical circuits, up to 415v
  • Pneumatic circuits
  • Closed Loop Servo Drives
  • General PC hardware and operating system faults (DOS and all Windows versions)
  • Mechanical repairs and maintenance
  • Machine Operator Training
  • Machine Accuracy Setup
  • Onsite upgrades and enhancement fitting (mechanical, pneumatic and electrical)

Secondary Duties:


  • Remote online and onsite customer support
  • Creating and maintaining documentation to support maintenance / training procedures
  • Service Desk Support / Cover
  • Testing and development of new machine designs on customer site
  • Aid design department in improvement of machine and software designs
  • Feedback ideas and potential enhancements to Technical Director
  • Feedback sales leads for new machinery or Spares / consumables to Sales Director
  • Champion a particular area of expertise, including presenting and sharing observations in a group / team environment

  • To ensure that your uniform and vehicle are always in a tidy and presentable condition
  • Achievement of company targets and goals as set in appraisal objectives

  • Comply with all Health & Safety requirements
  • Ensure ALL company equipment is kept secure at all times
  • Ensure ontime task completion / delivery
  • Ensure all work is accurately documented and reported
  • Awareness of financial impact of decisions
  • Ensuring end customer satisfaction targets are maintained
  • Selfdevelopment and owntime learning into role

NB:
on occasions you will be required to attend other UK mainland customer sites & Head Office training
