Description

We have a fantastic, permanent opportunity for a results-oriented Senior Line Leader to manage our Telford-based production operation, on day shifts (08:00 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 13:30 on Friday).

You will be responsible for ensuring that high quality parts are manufactured and delivered to our customers on time, at the right cost and in a safe manner.

You will lead a team, being accountable for 2 Line Leaders, Cell Leaders, and a range of Production Operatives.

Complying with company Quality and Environmental Management, Health & Safety policies, and procedures, you will ensure the requirements are understood and maintained by all team members.

You will take prompt action to highlight and rectify risks, supporting the H&S Specialist to identify any previously unknown hazards.

You will ensure that all products are manufactured to the correct specifications and standards, managing product changes within the requirements of the business and customer protocols, this will include performing regular process and product audits, putting in place robust actions to close out any concerns.

In addition, you will:

Prepare work schedule and assign workers production line tasks to meet customer demand
Evaluate incoming orders and setting up of new production line processes, accordingly
Identify and resolve production line challenges in a timely manner
Perform recordkeeping tasks, including inventory management and order tracking
Training and supervising new team members
Collaborating with other departments to ensure that orders are completed on time
Maintaining a fully operational, safe, and tidy work environment

This role is required to ensure adequate and systematic forward planning is established and implemented to manage running changes through to new platform launches.

This will be inclusive of capacity, workforce headcount and build forward planning. You will continually monitor people and process performance to ensure optimisation and improve the economical use of consumable items.

About You:

To ensure success in this role, you should exhibit extensive knowledge of production processes and experience in a similar industry.

A top-notch Senior Line Leader will be someone whose production line expertise results in production targets being met without compromising on quality.

Able to work under pressure within a highly demanding environment, managing the expectations of key stakeholders
Able to work flexibly on own initiative, making decisions to improve efficiencies within the production line
Able to deal with first line quality issues with team members and customers
Can identify areas for continuous improvement to increase customer satisfaction rates
Experience of compiling reports on the request of the Production Manager to identify key performance trends
Willingness to learn new skills and adaptability to meet changing customer needs
HNC/HND in a Production or Engineering discipline, Level 3 qualification in Team Leading or equivalent experience
