Exchequer Services Assistant (p/t)

Salary £10,673 to £12,611 dependent on experience

18.5 hours per week

Working pattern:
All day Monday and Tuesday & Wednesday am

Following the retirement of the previous postholder, we are seeking an Exchequer Services Assistant to provide invoicing, customer service and month end processes for a range of Council activities.

As well as setting up regular billing and ad-hoc invoicerequests you will be responsible for the production of some monthly invoicing processes as part of this job share arrangement.

As well as customers, the role entails collaboration with other teams within the Council so good verbal communication skills anda friendly and positive attitude are essential, as are excellent customer service skills.


A good knowledge of Microsoft excel is essential for this role to ensure month end processes are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.

Highly numerate, you will need to work accurately and methodically and ensure that all aspects of your work meetstatutory requirements and professional codes of conduct, particularly those in respect of producing invoices and the handling of personal data.

You should be able to organise and prioritise workloads and have a flexible approach to your duties to enable youto meet the various deadlines required.


You will be responsible for managing your own workload and will need to possess good numeracy skills, be highly organised and be competent in dealing with difficult situations, with the confidence to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Previous experience of working in a finance environment is essential.
