Description

The Harper Hotel is an award winning 32 bedroom boutique hotel with an additional family cottage, and includes public spaces, a spa, bar and restaurant and room interiors.

We also operate 2 local pubs, the Langham Bluebell and The Morston Anchor.

Our rooms are a major draw for our hotel guests so attention to detail and a passion for your work are essential qualities for success in this position.

We are looking for a professional, experienced housekeeping manager to oversee all duties performed by our housekeeping staff; someone who can develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of the housekeeping department, and who has excellent management, leadership and communication skills.


Duties and Responsibilities
Hire and train hotel housekeeping staff to adhere to our high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Schedule staff and organize replacements as needed.

To maintain a positive and inclusive team culture where every team member feels valued and recognised.


Monitor all the daily operations of the housekeeping department and laundry, including the cleanliness of all guest rooms, public areas, Spa, pool area, cottages and both pubs daily.

Take inventory, write orders and ensure there is a stock of adequate cleaning supplies.

Document areas cleaned by housekeepers and report any issues such as room damages or maintenance requests.

Perform daily housekeeping cleaning duties as part of the housekeeping team.

Ensure all cleaning equipment is in proper working order and make arrangements for repairs as needed.

Ability to operate and arrange proactive maintenance of equipment needed.


Head Housekeeper Requirements
Demonstrate extensive experience in hospitality housekeeping management as an executive housekeeper, housekeeping manager or similar.

Applicants should be excellent leaders, detail-oriented, and demonstrate a commitment to customer service.

Excellent organizational, communication and management skills.

Ability to prioritise tasks and get them done in a timely manner.

Must have a driving licence and reliable transportation.


The position involves being outside and as you move from building to building and some physical labour; Harper Hotel housekeepers need to possess the ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.

Additionally, housekeepers often need to move, carry, push and lift up to 12 Kilos.
