JOB - Electrical Design Engineer

LOCATION - Thetford

TERM - Permanent

SALARY - £35,000 - £50,000 per annum.

My client - a manufacturer of bespoke systems and products to be used across a number of industries are on the lookout for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a Permanent basis near Thetford.

Those with experience in LV switchgear and Control Systems will be of particular interest.

The Electrical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • A degree level education or alternate qualification equivalent in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering (BEng, BSc, HND, NVQ etc).
  • 3+ Years' experience within a similar Electrical Design Engineering position.
  • R&D / Development department experience; with capability of collaborating and supporting NPI Engineers to deliver working Electrical Designs.
  • Proficiency in delivering Electrical Designs and Calculations; ideally within AutoCAD Electrical (although other CAD packages will transfer well).
  • Strong experience with Test Procedures and understanding of Electrical Test results.

The Electrical Design Engineer's duties will involve:

  • Electrical Design of Industrial Control Panels and packages for the Automation Market.
  • Liaising with Customers from Design to stage to develop Drawings and Solutions from the ground up.
  • Supporting Projects within Aerospace, Marine and Defence Sectors.
  • Delivery of Electrical Schematics, Cable Schedules, Enclosure Designs and Loop Drawings.
  • Working closely with Technical Teams to ensure adherence to standards, specifications and relevant budgets.
