Douglas Scott have partnered with a leading retail group in their search for a new Legal Counsel to join the team in their head office in York.

The business are looking for a good commercial generalist to help advise the business across various legal matters.

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contract agreements across the business (supplier, services, distribution, tech, marketing etc ).
  • Advising the business on various regulatory and compliance matters, ensuring policies and procedures are drafted and implemented across the business.
  • Advising on wider legal matters including Corporate, Intellectual Property, Data Protection & Debt Matters.
  • Appointing and managing external counsel to ensure cost effective and suitable advice.
  • Supporting in the management and development of junior members of the team.
  • Qualified Solicitor with 25 PQE.
  • Demonstrable postqualification experience in a commercial practice area (Commercial Contracts/Corporate/Construction/Banking/Commercial Litigation etc ).
  • Desire to learn and develop across generalist inhouse practice areas that aren't necessarily your post qualification expertise.
