- We are looking for an enthusiastic specialist to train, coach and support a team of Permitting Support Advisors. You will train and develop team members to ensure quality work is delivered. You will support your team and peers to arrive at effective outcomes for our customers and continually review how we deliver these outcomes. You'll contribute to the Environment Agency's vision of creating a better place for people and wildlife by helping to regulate low risk activities.

In the role you will:
Identify, plan and deliver training to develop the knowledge and skill base of your team to achieve targets and deliver a service.
Continually review and develop the resources and tools that are in place to support your teams' performance and the effective management of your teams' performance.
Work effectively with your peer group to identify, share and deliver best practice across the Permitting and Support Centre.Plan, manage and prioritise your workload to meet tight timescales linking this to the needs of the team.
Support individuals and the team to manage the teams' workload effectively.
Drive the delivery of excellent customer service within your team.
Manage and own your development to ensure you have the knowledge of processes to support, train and coach the team
The team- Environmental permits cover activities that could pollute the air, water, or land, increase flood risk, or adversely affect land drainage.
The National Permitting Service (NPS) has 450 staff determining permits. You will be working within one of our Integrated Permitting Services Teams based in Sheffield.These teams have a strong customer focus and are essential in providing a range of administrative services to support the rest of NPS and deliver fast paced outcomes for customers.

Being able to make and justify informed, timely decisions
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with your team and peer group
IT skills including experience of working with data, managing information and using tools like Word, Excel and specialist digital tools relevant to your job.
Be able to build relationships and develop people to achieve their potential.Ability to coach, train, and mentor team members to improve team performance.
Identify and escalate any issues through your manager or other identified method.
Ensure data and information is handled correctly and accurately.

- Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
