Shire Healthcare are currently sourcing a Speech and Language Therapist for a permanent position based in Hertfordshire. The successful Speech and Language Therapist will join a specialist school supporting children and young people aged 6-19.

Pupils require specialist input because of a specific educational need such as autism, dyspraxia, dyslexia or speech, language and communication needs.


This is a permanent, term-time only position (34 weeks) although preparation, admin and liaison may be required outside these hours.

Full-time or part-time (3-4 days per week) contracts can be offered.


The role:

  • Working collaboratively within an multidisciplinary team
  • Managing and prioritising a caseload of pupils
  • Completing speech, language and communication assessments
  • Using a range of therapeutic skills to meet the needs of the pupils

The ideal Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Holds a relevant Degree/Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • RCSLT membership
  • Experience of or a keen interest in supporting children and young people with autism, learning difficulties and speech, language and communication needs
