Job Summary

Responsibilities:

• To deliver meals to, and collect containers from, schools and other venues driving in a safe courteous manner which abides by the Highway Code.
• To ensure that delivery vehicles are clean and serviceable, that fuel levels are maintained and van checks undertaken, reporting any concerns to the Kitchen Manager.
• To prepare fresh vegetables and ingredients and to assist with the production of main meals and puddings that comply with the School Food Standards under the direction of the Kitchen Manager or Cook.
• To comply with all kitchen and van policies and procedures, including (but not exhaustively) HACCP, COSHH, manual handling and other Health & Safety regulations.
• To maintain the kitchen cleaning schedule and ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen at all times.
• To work as part of the kitchen team but also to be selfreliant and able to work alone.
• To actively engage with LFL's induction, probation and appraisal processes and to attend staff meetings and training courses as required.
• To ensure the Company's standards are adhered to and to be an ambassador for LFL.

Duties include:

• Weighing and preparation of ingredients.
• Assisting with and cooking meals, component parts and puddings.
• Checking and recording orders and temperatures of deliveries and food.
• Portioning, packing and loading meals in line with procedures.
• Clearing away and washing up.
• Cleaning of the kitchen, stores, chemical and delivery areas and cleaning and sanitizing returned containers.
• Timely and accurate completion of administration documents.
• To collect kitchen supplies as directed by the Kitchen Manager.
• To occasionally cover a school's lunchtime service and/or assist with the delivery of a meal.
• To support all members of the kitchen team in meals production.
• Anything else as reasonably requested by the Kitchen Manager or Cooks.
