A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate, self-motivated and experienced Trainer to join our rapidly growing and reputable company based in the North West of England.


Cedar Health and Wellbeing began operations in November 2021 specialising providing care and support for adults diagnosed with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities who may present with behaviours considered challenging.

We currently offer residential, supported living and outreach services to individuals requiring support.


Our aim is simple, to provide quality care and community-based support that is person-centred to the needs of the individual with the goal to improve quality of life and the wellbeing of individuals.


To achieve our aim we do this by; providing a robust learning pathway for all employees of all roles and individuals we support, developing personal development plans with staff, recruit and employ staff based on values, and by understanding that all people are deserving of a life they want.


Main Purpose


To assist the Training and Development Manager with delivering, managing, and scheduling bespoke training meeting the needs of each individual service.

To ensure all staff are trained in line with current legislation and guidance, and company policies and procedures.

You will be responsible for delivering a combination of training to new starters, current staff via refreshers/competency, and workshops to a team of professional support workers and management roles.


To provide professional and high-quality training enabling staff to achieve their potential and goals through delivering a learning pathway suited to their role and ambitions.

Job Specifications and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with managers to determine training needs and schedule training sessions
  • Design effective training programs, with associated assessments, worksheets and activities
  • Select and book suitable venues
  • Conduct mandatory training, workshops, individual training sessions, and refreshers
  • Prepare educational material such as module summaries, videos, guidance notes
  • Design eLearning modules to support learning that is role specific
  • Support and mentor new employees
  • Create personal development plans and source appropriate training
  • Keep detailed records of attendance, evaluations and assessments
  • Manage training budgets
  • Conduct evaluations to identify areas for improvement
  • Execute peertopeer evaluations to identify areas for improvement
  • Monitor employee performance and response to training
  • Complete postcourse records creating certificates, postcourse letters addressed to managers, and reflective accounts of courses delivered
  • Archive training records following company policy and procedure
  • Attend regular supervisions with the Training and Development Manager and devise personal development plan

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience as a trainer
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools
  • Willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in organisation teaching
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Powerpoint; eLearning software is an asset
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and public speaking skills
  • Organisation and time management abilities
  • Critical thinking and decision making
  • Relevant certification to deliver training
  • RQF (PTLLS), CET (CTLLS), DET (DTLLS), QTLS etc.
  • Driving License
