Description

An exciting and challenging Finance Manager position has become available at KS Distribution, an audio electronics distributor and eCommerce company, based in Shoreham-by-Sea near Brighton.

This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in an ambitiousSMEenvironment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all financial regulatory reporting, including HMRC reporting and payments (VAT, corporation tax, PAYE & NI, NEST, etc.) are completed.
  • Take responsibility for the handover of yearend statutory accounts to accountants.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate production of the monthly and quarterly Management Accounts including P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a timely basis.
  • Sales ledger management, including credit control and liaising with customers.
  • Arrange the purchase of foreign currency (USD and EUR) to pay suppliers and manage incoming currency from EU and US sales channels.
  • Cash flow analysis and forecasting.
  • Managing HMRC and Companies House online portal accounts and filings.
  • Review credit risk of prospective customers with company directors.
  • Develop intercompany service charge agreements, calculate fees and make payments.
  • Develop controls and procedures to ensure finance functions are correctly implemented throughout the businesses.
  • Commentary and analysis of key management accounts and reporting to directors.
  • Work alongside Operations and Commercial teams on projects to enhance, automate and improve processes and procedures.
  • Overseeing payroll and book keeping.

Your Skills

The following skills are required:

  • At least 5 years finance experience, part qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent) with a strong track record of success.
  • Experience developing financial metrics, monitoring processes and procedures to optimise financial performance.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting and/or ERP software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.

The following experience is advantageous:

  • Experience with SAP Business One (if not full training provided).
  • Experience with eCommerce, e.g. Shopify, Amazon, eBay and multichannel retail platforms.
  • EU and US business exposure, e.g. EU VAT and US sales tax reporting.
  • Group company structure.

About You

  • A well rounded and commercially aware individual with at least 3 years in an accountancy role.
  • Fast, efficient and accurate handling daily activities.
  • Confident, respectful and firm communication style.
  • Experience building Excel and other software solutions to analyse business data and performance.
  • Comfortable learning new IT systems, ideally with experience working alongside IT consultants and software developers.
  • Willing and able to quickly learn new systems and develop new business processes.
  • Experience working as part of a team, ideally as part of a senior management team.
