_ Are you a support worker with experience working in theatres? Do you want to develop your career your way? Do you want to join the only AfPP accredited Theatres team in Kent?_
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to join our Theatres team.

As a Theatre Support Worker, you will be responsible for preparing theatres for surgery including the cleaning of theatre and recovery areas, collecting and escorting patients for their surgeries and maintaining appropriate patient records.


This role is ideally suited to an enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker who has a demonstratable ability to build a rapport with patients in a short period of time, and who is looking to progress their perioperative career in a clinical environment that will support your ongoing professional development to help you operate at your fullest potential.

Working hours will be 4 days per week Monday and Saturday 07:30 - 18:00. You will work 1 Saturday per month.

Role Responsibilities

As a Theatre Support Worker you will:

  • Cleaning of theatre and recovery areas before and after operating sessions, also adhering to the weekly cleaning schedule.
  • Stocking of cupboards and stock containers against agreed stock levels.
  • Collecting and escorting the patient, and assisting with transferring of the patient from trolley to table under supervision of trained staff.
  • Assisting with the safe positioning of patient on operating table.
  • Acting as circulating person for the scrub team and within the scope of the role.

Person Specification
Essential

  • Have previous experience working within Theatres or a Decontamination Unit
  • Display excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to carry out instructions accurately
  • Be a flexible and adaptable individual that can work to tight deadlines
Desirable

  • An NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or Care Certificate
