Role summary:

Supported by the Finance Manager the Finance Assistant is responsible for day-to-day finance tasks to ensure that the practice bookkeeping is in order.

This includes entering data into the accounting system, processing payments and issuing invoices and funding claims.

Leeds Salary:
£22, ,336 pro rata Annual leave: 5.6 weeks p/a pro rata.

Key Relationships The post holder will have key relationship with the following teams, departments and organisations:

Practice Partners Practice manager Employees Patients Clinicians Core Functions Provide support to the Finance Manager, Practice Manager and Finance Lead GP Partner Manage and reconcile bank accounts Monitor and reconcile income and expenditure statements and purchase/sales ledger transactions Oversee the systems for the handling and recording of cash, cheques and petty cash Claim monies owed via the local and national systems Provide information for the accountants and auditor as required, including annual accounts Support providing information to produce budgets and financial reports Liaise with HR and our external Payroll company to ensure accurate salary payments are made each month.


Carry out any other work or duties as reasonably requested General To act in a way that is compliant with the NLMP constitution, values and behaviours, and other management responsibilities.

To take responsibility for maintaining confidentiality at all times.

To adhere to the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act and to ensure their own safety and the safety of colleagues and patients.

To actively participate in the annual Personal Development Review process with line manager agreeing mandatory training requirements and development needs.


To be aware of their individual responsibilities under the Equal Opportunities Policy and ensure that they adhere to the provisions of the policy.
