Real Estate Fund Accountant Hybrid role 2 days from home 3 in the office £75,000 plus bonus
Located in central London my client is one of Europes largest Real estate firms.

The Senior Associate will be reviewing accounting and reporting for a number of pan European real estate portfolios of managed investment funds and more specifically responsibilities will involve:
Financial Accounting

  • Review of property reporting packages prepared by local service providers and ensure their completeness and accuracy;
  • Preparation and review of general journal entries;
  • Analyze / Review monthly and quarterly financial metrics and data (net operating income, capital expenditures, intercompany reconciliations, debt covenants, etc.);
  • Review intercompany reconciliations and ensure regular intercompany settlements where applicable;
  • Support periodic group budgeting process.
Reporting

  • Facilitate monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting;
  • Review annual statutory accounts;
  • Assist with group consolidation process;
  • Liaise with external group and local auditors;
  • Prepare ad hoc reports / reconciliations.
  • Approve invoice payments where applicable;
  • Prepare periodic cash distribution analysis and ensure timely cash repatriation to investors (cash flow analysis, tax mechanics, local regulatory requirements, etc.);
  • Review external debt financial covenants.
Portfolio Management

  • Support asset management team with ad hoc financial information / analysis as required;
  • Assist with onboarding, acquisition and disposition processes;
  • Foster thirdparty relationships and monitor cash management requirements.
Tax Structuring

  • Liaise with external advisors to ensure compliance of tax structuring for investments and obtain updated opinions where relevant;
  • Ensure that all tax filings are kept up to date for the SPVs;
  • Review periodical VAT returns.
Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure legal and statutory compliance through liaison with external legal advisors.
  • Review, improve and / or keep uptodate with applicable best practices of internal risk management processes, including periodic comprehensive review of riskmitigation processes / safeguards within the Finance Team;
  • Ensure legal and statutory compliance through liaison with external legal advisors.
Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for all financial reporting processes;
  • Support and coach junior members;
  • Liaison with 3rd party administrators and finance teams across Europe.
What You Bring To The Role

  • Team player;
  • Result oriented and hands on mentality;
  • Excellent organization skills & attention to detail;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Degree in accounting or accounting certification (e.g. ACCA preferred);
  • 8+ years' relevant professional experience (Real Estate experience preferred);
  • Managerial experience;
  • Fluency in English (verbally and in writing)
  • Proficient user of MS Office and accounting software (Yardi preferred).
