Description

We are currently seeking an organised individual to join our team as a Band 2 Ward Clerk within our Acute Medical Assessment Unit, Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.


As a Ward Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth running of the ward.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the provision of high-quality patient care within NHS Fife.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide efficient administrative support to the ward, including maintaining accurate and uptodate records, managing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges,
  • Reception duties which include answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries, ensuring accurate and timely communication within the ward,
  • Monitor and order stationery, ensuring necessary stock levels are maintained,
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organised ward environment,
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families, maintaining a professional and compassionate approach at all times,
  • Adhere to confidentiality and data protection policies, ensuring sensitive information is handled with discretion,
  • Participate in relevant training and development activities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role is desirable, preferably within a healthcare setting.

Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and patient administration systems would be advantageous however, full training will be provided.
