Stock Controller
Position Objective:
The Stock Controller will be responsible for maintaining an accurate stock inventory and ensuring that it is sufficient to support production needs.
They will be supporting Supply Chain and Production team members in their role as Stock Controller and ensure that orders are placed, delivered, and consumed on a timely basis in line with production requirements and stock movement principles.
Stock Management
- Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of ingredients and packaging stock at all times. This will include carrying out independent audits on the stock as well as ensuring the area supervisors are handing in spot check reports on a biweekly basis.
- Ensure that incoming materials are entered accurately into the Inventory Management System and consumed in line with FIFO requirements.
- Ensure that raw material intake has been carried out for every incoming delivery and a QR code assigned to the product.
Inventory Management System
- Responsible for inputting the production plan into the inventory management system for at least 2 weeks at a time and check if adequate stock levels are available across the board.
- Update plan changes as soon as there is a change and ensure that any inventory shortages are flagged and reported to Production and Supply Chain.
- Review production and customer orders for accuracy and close them on daily basis.
- Double check return goods paperwork for accuracy and enter these into the inventory management system.
- Ensure new products are set up in the system with accurate recipes and product codes.
Ordering Support
- Work with the Head of Supply Chain and conduct weekly ordering meetings.
- Ensure all minimum and maximum stock holding quantities are set appropriately and run reports to sense check this and meet to update these monthly based on supply and demand.
- Present forecasting reports for suppliers and accounts.
- Support the Head of Supply Chain with forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running outofstock.
- Follow up with suppliers on incoming deliveries to ensure stock is received in line with PO delivery dates. Identify and flag any potential and expected delays that could derail production.
- Assist with identifying new suppliers for ingredients and packaging requirements.
Accounts Support
- Ensure accurate pricing is maintained in Xero and any other relevant systems at all times based on invoices.
- Cross check incoming deliveries and mark POs as billed.
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a stock controller in a food manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Ability to work with a team of people and hold them accountable on accurate reporting of stock.
- Familiarity with BRC requirements and associated documentation.
- Level 2 food safety is essential.
