Hope House Children's Hospices have an opportunity for a
Community Engagement Officer to join our Communications Team, the role will be on a hybrid basis with a mix of predominantly working in the community of Mid Wales, working from home and occasionally in the office in Oswestry.
You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis, working 22.5 hours per week. In return, our Community Engagement Officer will receive a competitive rate of
£25,869 - £30,750 pro rata, per annum.

We deliver our Mission by being a centre of excellence for children's palliative care, ensuring that families whose child has a life-threatening condition receive the very best care and support when and where they need it.


About the Community Engagement Officer role**:

As a Community Engagement Officer, you will promote our work through the Mid Wales region to help to make sure that local communities and organisations are aware of what we do, and that every eligible child and family gets the opportunity to hear about the full range of services that are freely available to support them at Hope House Children's Hospices.


You will also gather information about other useful support services in the community and link children and families who already use our services to further help that they might be unaware of.


What we are looking for a Community Engagement Officer who**:

  • Is a natural at building rapport with people
  • Has excellent relationship building and partnership working skills, by improving the awareness of Hope House Children's Hospices and the services we offer
  • Has excellent communication skills and can advocate on behalf of vulnerable people
  • Has an understanding of the needs of children with lifelimiting conditions and their families
  • Has an understanding of community engagement and signposting
