Description
Job description

The Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) is the body that represents the interests and views of UK Higher Education organisations as employers.

We are a voluntary membership organisation, funded through the subscriptions of our 172 member universities. You can read about our strategic priorities on our website.

We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our small and dedicated team.

As UCEA's new Governance & Business Support Officer, you will provide outstanding governance and administrative support to our efficient organisation.

Your expertise is required to administer our Board, committees and working groups, from collating papers and booking rooms to managing diaries and maintaining accurate records.

In delivering this role, you will liaise with high-profile stakeholders including university vice-chancellors, HR Directors, our Board members and more.

We require a confident, competent professional who can excel whether in writing, in person or in virtual meetings.

As part of a small team, there will be many opportunities to demonstrate your broader administrative skills, from covering colleagues with PA duties to responding to ad-hoc admin requests from one of our departments, perhaps to help with setting up an event, or to research and collate some information online.

We take pride in helping one another at UCEA.

You will be a great team player with strong verbal and written communication skills and good IT literacy.

You will know all about multitasking and prioritising, working to a high standard ensuring accuracy within tight deadlines and responding rapidly to fast-moving events.

Best of all, there will be numerous development opportunities for you to grasp at UCEA.

We will support you with a thorough induction so that you develop a strong understanding of UCEA's key business activities and what's important to our members.

There is plenty of room to grow in the role, acquire new skills, undergo training, and gain experience to support your future career development.

UCEA also offers an attractive set of benefits to all employees, including a generous annual leave entitlement, an excellent pension scheme and a health and wellbeing scheme.

This role is offered on a part-time basis at 21 hours (0.6FTE) per week, and offers great flexibility, including the ability to spread your working hours over 3, 4 or 5 days each week, and to spend a proportion of each week working remotely.
