Corporate Tax Senior - Flexible Hours, Hybrid Working, Top 100 Firm
The Firm are a dynamic multi-disciplinary accountancy and business advisory practice operating from two offices - London and Guildford.

They have a strong leadership team of Partners with a wealth of knowledge and experience and are currently seeking a MixedTax Senior to join their growing team in Guildford, offering a flexible working hours environment.


Main Purpose of the Role:


To manage tax compliance for a portfolio of clients and to provide support to the Partners, Associate and Managers as part of the Firm's wider tax consultancy service to clients.

The role involves delegating work to members of the team and to review thework when completed, assisting the junior members of the team where necessary.

The role is approximately 60% compliance and 40% ad-hoc consulting work.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsibility for the compliance function for a corporate tax client portfolio (approx. 50) and small personal tax portfolio (approx. 25)
  • Preparation of tax returns for a range of clients
  • Monitoring tax return progress to ensure timely completion and submission to HMRC for the corporation tax team.
  • Advising tax clients of tax liabilities due on a timely basis
  • Liaising directly with clients to ensure both accurate and prompt completion of tax returns
  • Have a good understanding of R & D tax relief and how to include such claims within the corporation tax return
  • Tax advisory duties to attend client meetings and assist with the tax advice arising, managing the progress of each advisory project.
  • Preparation and submission of CT61 forms
  • Basic understanding of corporate reorganisations to assist on consultancy projects.
  • Reporting to the client partner on all matters relevant to the client's tax affairs including billing
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities and following these through with the relevant partner.
  • Dealing with routine HMRC enquiries from inception to completion.

Qualifications and Experience:


Essential:


  • A minimum of 3 years' tax experience within a professional accountancy practice with CTA qualification or partqualified (study support available to complete qualification); or QBE (minimum of 5 years).
  • Experience of working on long term client relationships and of working on a fee basis with clients

Desirable:


  • Good working knowledge of Alphatax or CCH Personal Tax and CCH Documents Filing
  • Experience of delegating work and supervising junior members of staff
