About the role


We are currently looking for a Public Relations Executive (EMEA) to join our global PR function on a 12-month fixed term contract.

***: This is an important, strategic role in the implementation of public relations programs designed to create and maintain favourable public image for the organisation. This team member should be a communications and public relations professional, capable of assisting in projects and project teams, and producing content of the highest calibre. The position may focus on any of several professional areas, including media and influencer relations, storytelling, press tours, PR agency relations and event support and staffing.

This role would suit a PR agency Senior Account Executive or Account Manager.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Builds and maintains key professional relationships with significant media outlets.
  • Helps to direct the activities of external agencies and internal teams as needed.
  • Coordinates significant communications programs, which may include promotions, press trips, press conferences, executive briefing.
  • Handles incoming media inquiries.
  • Coordinates innovative approaches to generating coverage in the media, draft press releases, talking points and statements.
  • Tracks press coverage, writes coverage reports and creates and maintain clips and media lists.
  • Coordinates individual press trip requests and liaises with appropriate personnel on requests.
  • Stays abreast of latest industry developments, trends, and shifts in the travel industry.
  • Occasional travel.
Performs other duties as required.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages and tracks billing and program results.
  • Partners with leadership on budget/expense control and reporting, department and/or brand related.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent, directly related experience required.
  • Previous experience of PR agency, public relations, journalism or corporate communications experience.
  • Experience with media relations.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel as appropriate (domestic & international).
  • Experience in travel industry and working for a global company ideal, but not essential.
  • Strong ability to interact with senior leaders and build effective relationships within the company, public, guests and media.
  • Strong planning capabilities to identify and prioritize communication strategies and activities as well as to meet the deadlines required to support media and business needs.
  • Strong writing skills message creation experience a plus.
  • Excellent research, written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work in fastpaced, high volume environment.
  • Goal oriented and actionfocused, practical, and selfdisciplined.
  • Strong skills in pitching and comfortable reaching out to top tier media.
  • Ability to assist in coordinating projects or participate in crossfunctional teams.
  • Effortlessly organized selfmotivator with a wealth of creative ideas.
  • Understanding of social media, influencers and emerging media.
  • Strong project management, planning, evaluation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly analyse situations and alternatives and make prudent decisions.
  • Finger on the pulse always up to date with trends, both inside and outside our industry.
  • Outstanding English language proficiency. Proficiency in another European language desirable.

Work Environment:


  • Office based
  • Weybridge, Surrey.
  • Meetings in London at least a couple of times a month.
  • Ship events and launches around the world can involve early starts, late finishes and overnight stays. Flexibility needed from applicants.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the year we host media press trips, film crews and various other PR events on board our ships, which are all around the world. This can involve international travel over weekends.
