At WSE Academy we provide alternative education provision to learners 14-16 years of age, who through social, emotional or behavioural difficulties are unable to access or are unsuited to mainstream education.

As a sports Mentor you will be working with individual pupils and small groups delivering both classroom and practical sessions within our onsite facilities.

Supporting learners in working towards a level 1 sports vocational qualification. In addition you will be supporting learners to improve their attendance, punctuality and other core skills.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

To plan and deliver daily activities to promote and enhance learner knowledge within both a classroom and practical sports capacity
Behaviour management
You'll take a leading role in prompting and guiding discussions
To facilitate inductions for new students and be a point of contact for any concerns
Support learners to realise their academic potential
Supporting pupils within a mentoring capacity
To carry out termly student reviews

Experience

Previous experience in sports coaching
Experience within education is highly desirable
Experience working with students with challenging behaviour
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with students
Ability to listen actively and provide constructive feedback
