Commercial Category Manager - Homebased, Flexible (FTC)

Salary:
£37,694 (National Framework) or £42,863 (London Framework - if you are London office based or homebased and live within the boundary of the M25) - There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £529 per annum for those workingfrom home

Contracted Hours:
Full time 37 hours per week

We're now looking for a Commercial Category Manager to join our People Team for a 24 month, fixed term contract or secondment.

What you will bring
To be considered as a Commercial Category Manager, you will need:

  • Experience in leading the full end-to-end procurement cycle for a range of categories
  • Experience of running full EUcompliant procurement tendering exercises
  • Experience of managing supplier performance and relationship programmes to optimise supplier delivery to achieve best value
  • Experience of using eprocurement systems
  • Knowledge of the UK health sector
  • To be MCIPS qualified (or working towards qualification)
Experience of working in the public sector is an advantage but not essential.

What you'll be doing
As a Commercial Category Manager, you will manage multiple procurement streams and contract management activities.

Leading complex procurement projects, you will deliver procurement strategies and establish innovative procurement practices, in line with the overarching strategy and budget.

You will deliver financial efficiencies through effective financial and process analysis, preventing maverick purchasing behaviour and ensuring maximum financial benefit.

Undertaking pipeline and contract register activities, you will help to review policiesand processes to help promote best practice across the organisation and ensure compliance.


Additionally, you will:


  • Lead on developing pipelines and planning for delivery
  • Manage delivery of business outcomes through Contract and Supplier management
  • Support the contract owners on the commercial management of key contracts
  • Support the Commercial and Contracts team strategy
