£13-£16 plus shift allowance dependant on experience and the shift pattern worked

The Recruitment Crowd have recently partnered with a well-established manufacturing company based in the Ilkley area. They're currently recruiting for multiple welder fabricators on a temp to perm basis.


Your responsibilities

  • To determine the parts required for the fabrication operation.
  • To perform general inspection of the parts picked, to ensure they are the correct to the bill of materials and in good condition.
  • To ensure parts are prepared as per instruction on the drawings for welding.
  • To set welding equipment to the correct parameters
  • To assess and inspect welding to the correct sizes so that it meets the drawing.
  • To carry out MIG, TIG and Resistance welding.
  • To operate the rolling and swaging machinery as required
  • To use hand tools to polish the steel grain back into the parts as per instruction on the works orders and fabrication operation.
  • To use different cutting methods, gas, plasma and cutting discs.
  • Adhering to safety critical welding parameters and process.
  • To ensure work performed meets the production timescales.
  • To move the completed work to the next allocated area as per management instruction.
  • To safely move parts, ensuring the appropriate lifting tools and operating the overhead crane.
  • To adhere to the company safe systems of work and appropriate standard operating processes.
  • To flexibly undertake any other duties similar with this level of post, according to the needs of the business.

What we need from you

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent handeye coordination.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work to production schedules.
  • Able to work within a team and on their own.
  • Good verbal communication.
  • Able to work to and within procedures, safe systems of work and quality.
  • A good knowledge of written English language.
  • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use hand tools (such as grinders, drills, die grinder, hexsert gun, monobolt gun)
  • Understanding of welding symbols and processes.
  • Experience moving and turning large fabrications (desirable).
