The Opportunity


Roke is recruiting for a General Counsel / Chief Compliance Officer, who will support the Finance & Operations Director and Group Legal Counsel, on corporate and commercial matters, including both internal and external projects to enable sustainable and profitable business growth.

This is a senior role at Assistant Director level.


Roke is growing rapidly in its National Security and Intelligence as a Service (IaaS) business lines and is presented with ever more complex mission and technical challenges in its projects.

Roke needs to ensure it is compliant with all relevant legal and ethical requirements is delivery of these projects.


Due to the complex nature of the work within Roke, working knowledge of UK GDPR and associated legal frameworks to enable a pragmatic approach to data protection challenges is essential.


The role will also play a pivotal part in Roke's aspirations to continue to grow through strategically aligned acquisitions and partnerships, ensuring that any potential complications are de-conflicted.


Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

  • LPC / LLM or equivalent, at least five years qualified
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Inhouse experience, ideally in the defence sector
  • Knowledge of data protection law and intellectual property law
  • Commercial contracting skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Experience in engaging with potential clients and/or potential acquisitions
