Mages Group was established in 1960 by Mr William Mages under the name W. Mages (Rewinds) Ltd.

The firms origins were supporting the local agriculture and quarrying industry in the region and has since grown to become one of the South West's leaders in electro-mechanical engineering.

In 1999, William's son Anthony introduced S&G engineering to the firm. Since the acquisition, Mages Group has become well known for its mechanical division, engineering capabilities and electrical services.

We are looking for a hands on electrical supervisor who can assist in the day to day running of the electrical team, for the full description see below.

Job description

Accountable For:

To advise engineers and the management team on any technical/electrical matters. Typically, NICEIC requirements on projects, planned maintenance and reactive jobs.
Inspect Electrical certification issued by other engineers within the business.
Completing the Minor Works and Installation Certificates on completion of any electrical installations or alterations.

Key Responsibilities:

To provide technical support and assistance in all aspects of Electrical Work
To carry out post audits of other engineers electrical work as required by NICEIC
Estimating new works for customers.
To carry out your duties and responsibilities as appointed person for the Company NICEIC accreditation.
To submit detailed written reports on compliance status and actions required and ensure any changes in legislation is presented to senior management
Assist in assessment of engineer's qualification/competences for potential or existing staff
Deliver tool box talks in relation to Electrical Works/Certification

Minor Responsibilities:

Working with team in writing of Electrical RAMS for works
Lead jobs when assigned, and lead by example
Work within Installation team as required
Responsible for the cleanliness and state of currently assigned company vehicle

Essential Criteria:

To have served a full trade apprenticeship as an Electrical engineer.
To have extensive experience in both Commercial and Industrial environments
To have City & Guilds 236 Electrical Installation Part 1 and 2 or NVQ equivalent
To have 18th Edition
City & Guilds Inspection and Testing 239
Proven track record of fulfilling the NICEIC QS Role previously
To have a full UK driving licence
Computer literate in Microsoft / Outlook
Excellent Communication skills

SMSTS/SSSTS
IPAF PAL Licence 1b, 3a and 3b
PASMA
Working at Height

This job description sets out the scope and main duties of your role. It does not include or define all tasks which the post holder may be expected to carry out. Duties will vary from time to time without changing the nature of the post or level of responsibility. The post holder may also be required to carry out any other duties as required by their line manager.

08:00 - 16:30 Monday-Friday Base Hours
We operate 24/7/365 so overtime is always available, all overtime is paid at a higher rate.

Operational base is Mages Group main workshop in Cheddar.
