    A Service Desk Analyst Opportunity

    We are recruiting for a one-year fixed-term contract as a Service Desk Analyst at the Aga Khan University (International) in the United Kingdom.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and applications for hardware and software.
    • Troubleshoot issues related to handheld devices (iOS, Android, Windows, etc.).
    • Enhance integration of IT infrastructure across constituent organizations using innovative technology.
    • Ensure 24/7 availability and reliability of telecommunications and video conferencing infrastructure.
    • Maintain network uptime and troubleshoot wired and wireless network infrastructure.
    • Create and manage user accounts to resolve access issues promptly.
    • Monitor IT-related policies to ensure proper use of IT services and equipment.
    • Implement upgrades, improvements, and replacements to keep the IT infrastructure up to date.
    • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems with safe and sustainable solutions.
    • Evaluate new products and procure IT equipment and services for constituent organizations.
    • Assist in maintaining the IT hardware and software infrastructure for constituent organizations.
    • Ensure ICT governance and standardization with compliance to AKU policy.
    • Work with vendors to evaluate products according to AKU policies and procedures.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
    • Strong hands-on experience in end-user support and troubleshooting for hardware and software.
    • Knowledge and experience with productivity tools like MS Office 365.
    • Technical knowledge of operating systems (Windows and Macintosh).
    • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP services.
    • Understanding of telecommunication and video conferencing technology.
    • Knowledge of wired and wireless network architecture and support.
    • Ability to identify service gaps and address them.
    • Willingness to work outside regular hours when necessary.
