You will be responsible for assisting the Medicines Manager in the day to day planning, organisation and delivery of the medicines management process and stock levels to ensure safety and security of all medicines and equipment.


Your responsibilities:


  • To be responsible for the supply and maintenance of medical equipment and drug stock levels at HUC bases and conduct full stock checks on a regular basis
  • To support with the safe delivery of medication, equipment and consumables to the Bases
  • To identify opportunities for improvement and implement process to support cost savings and manage medication wastage.
  • To support in the delivery of staff training (e.g. drivers/receptionists) on the medicine management process and update them on changes as they occur (this is likely to take place Out of Hours).
  • To be responsible for running monthly medicines management reports and analyse the data to highlight and trends and make recommendations for areas of improvement
  • To develop strong working relationships with our suppliers
  • To regularly visit all bases to ensure our drugs are stored securely and stock control is maintained and supervised.
  • To undertake Prescription validation checks to ensure accuracy of data and report any errors back to clinicians
  • To count and return prescriptions to the Prescriptions Pricing Authority and rolling out training on new processes with the support from the HR Team
