An interesting opportunity has arisen to join this large and culturally diverse Secondary school in the North of Bristol.

Due to ongoing absence the school need additional capacity within the Safeguarding team and are seeking an able and dependable individual to support the current DSL on an interim basis.

Although this role will be working with and supporting the DSL, the main duties are likely be supporting students and free-up the Senior Leadership Team for them to be able to perform their usual daily duties.


Usual daily duties will include:
- joint home-visits
- handling disclosures
- processing referrals
- anti-bullying


As a person you'll have previous experience in the same/similar role relating to child safeguarding and be able to integrate quickly with the current team.

It would be advantageous if you have experience/training in:


  • CPOMS
  • Arbor
  • South Gloucestershire (or Bristol) Advanced Child Protection
- previous work experience at a secondary school


Key competencies sought are:
- confident in speaking with parents
- skilled at supporting children and recognising early signs for concern
- good at presentating information
- accurate with data
- good empathy & interpersonal skills when working together with families


This role, although on and interim fixed-term contract basis, has a high probability of extension and potentially leading on to a permanent role within the school as they continually develop and adapt.

The school is part of a very large, well-run & managed and successful trust. You will be working amongst some of the most experienced & dedicated education professionals.

This role cannot offer part-time hours, flexibility with the working hours or remote-working.
