Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen with Acting on Impulse (AOI), a well-established charity giving homeless and marginalised people a new voice through film and theatre.

You'll be joining our Manchester-based Christian charity who give people who've experienced homelessness a stronger sense of purpose and community.

Our workshops and projects build self-esteem and confidence to create and share inventive stories to a wide audience on stage and big screen and across social media platforms.

Our films are on our website and on the
AOI YouTube channel.

Run by a dedicated band of volunteers and professionals. Strategically, we now aim to enhance our activity, moving forwards to a more sustainably managed organisation. A key step in that transition is the fresh appointment of Development Officer.

We will continually strive to work collaboratively with other agencies serving the same community in Greater Manchester. An additional deliverable will be to forge relationships with receptive agencies, where our outreach drama/film projects are bought in as part of their enhanced and targeted service provision

Through your networking and relationship building, we'd like to increase the awareness in Greater Manchester of AOI and the work that we do.

We see this as helping with your primary aim of raising income and your secondary aim of engaging with other agencies.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a proven fundraising track record.
  • Has a heart for the people we serve and our creative output
  • Has the ambition and energy to help push AOI through this transition period and on to the next level.
  • Is Greater Manchester orientated
  • Lives by values that resonate with our actionorientated Christian values.
If you're excited by this role, in addition to your CV, please provide us with a cover letter explaining:

  • What attracts you to the role.
  • Why you believe you'd perform well and thrive in the role.

Working Arrangements:
This is a home-based (mainly), part-time role (50% FTE = 18.75 hours per week). The FTE salary is
up to £28,000. Hours are flexible with an emphasis on school term time working. There will be a need for some weekend working and occasional evening working.

You'll report to one of the trustees and work in partnership with the Artistic Director and/or main workshop leader.

There will be 17 days paid annual leave (inclusive of statutory days).
