An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Management Accounts team at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Finance Assistant.

We would need the postholder to be ambitious and willing to show initiative in their work area with excel skills being essential

While the Trust operates an agile working policy, the postholder will be required to be office based for the initial period of their employment


An acceptance of work flexibility and continuous changing working practices is essential as the Team pursues its ambition to become FSD Level 3 accredited.


Main duties of the job will include:

  • Maintaining establishment control processes
  • Assisting with month end and year end duties
  • Input and verify data into the general ledger
  • Maintain operational reporting logs and issue statements within specified timeframes
  • Administration of base budget spreadsheets to support Assistant Management Accountants
  • Ad hoc analysis and administrative support to the team

The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

To assist the Finance Business Partner in the annual budget setting process.


To assist the Management Accounts team in carrying out month end duties to ensure budgetary control measures are in place.

To input and verify data to assist with the smooth running of the Management Accounts Department.

To deal with ad-hoc queries generated by the Management Accounts Team that assist in meeting service needs.

To provide a reliable and efficient, administrative and analytical support service for the Management Accounts department.

To ensure discretion is used at all times as some issues may be of a confidential nature
