**More about the Role
**As Supply Chain Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the site supply chain, including control of ethical sourcing, planning and purchasing, whilst adhering to WMFTSs sustainability and One Planet agendas. This will mean working with supplychain colleagues within Waston Marlow and Spirax Sarco to deliver world class supply chain initiatives. Key Accountabilities include

  • Oversee the procurement and contract negotiations/renegotiations for the supply of all materials into the manufacturing operations ensuring a cost effective and robust material supply chain
  • Maintain accurate supplier data, including pricing, contracts, review meeting schedules and relevant uptodate supplier quality information
  • Lead and develop a high performing Supply Chain team that is able to meet customer demands
  • Continue to develop and deliver a supply chain strategy, measuring and analysing quality and delivery performance through KPIs
  • Lead and improve supplier performance in terms of Service Level, Lead Time, Lot Size, cost, stock level, etc, responsible for annual stock counts during financial year
  • Ensure through effective planning that the right levels of inventory are established, maintained, and flexed to meet current and future operational/project needs
  • Develop the materials, stock control and handling processes to gain improvements in efficiency and control
  • Monitor and proactively manage obsolescence risks and material supply for appropriate period
  • Lead the internal movement of materials and finished goods, developing logistics capabilities to support continued growth and development
  • Ensure that supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards and are compliant with internal policies including Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy and the Group Management Code
  • Champion and have oversight in New Product Development Projects to ensure viable delivery of supply chain for new materials
  • Monthly internal stock takes & annual external/financial stock takes
Experience of warehouse processes and controls


You might be wondering what skills you will need. Well ideally you will have

  • Previous experience as a Supply Chain Manager or equivalent (e.g. Purchasing /Procurement/ Sourcing Manager) if its within a manufacturing organisation, even better although this is not essential
  • Extensive experience of maintaining effective and productive relationships with external customers
  • Monthly internal stock takes & annual external/financial stock takes
  • Experience of warehouse processes and controls
  • Commercially and financially aware with strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • CIPS/MCIPS qualified would be highly advantageous
  • Experience of working within a matrix organsiation would be beneficial although not essential
