We're advertising an exciting opportunity for a fixed term B7 Children's Speech and Language Therapy Team Lead, to cover maternity leave.

The Speech Therapy Team is going through a period of transformation and you have the chance to take a key role in leading this change, supported by senior management.

Main duties of the job:


  • Provide clear professional leadership, governance and operational management to the team.
  • Demonstrate compassionate leadership and empathy to support the teams and the families of the children we work with.
  • Utilise welldeveloped time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Provide management supervision to senior members of the teams.
  • Maintain high standards within the teams to enable the provision of safe and effective care.
  • Demonstrate excellent relationshipbuilding skills with colleagues.

Qualifications:


Essential criteria:


  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • Recognised qualification as a Speech Therapist
  • Evidence of relevant post graduate training
  • Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists

Desirable criteria:


  • Clinical supervisor training
  • Interview/recruitment training
  • Research and development awareness and/or experience
  • Audit experience

Skills:


Essential criteria:


  • Significant postregistration experience in a community setting
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other disciplines/agencies and across organsiational boundaries
  • Extensive knowledge of safeguarding
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Ability to manage and assess risk appropriately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
