Band - 2.1

Salary - £38,531 - £42,176 (depending on proven ability)

Purpose of the role
Connecting people lies at the heart of our organisational strategy. Our global B2B and B2G events programme drives meaningful connections between buyers, suppliers, innovators, researchers, policy makers and investors.

Across formats ranging from roundtables and webinars, to large scale global conferences Connected Places Catapult events link market actors to new knowledge, opportunities, partners and collaborators.

In short, events play a critical role in the awareness, engagement and positioning of Connected Places Catapult as well as contributing to business development activities and targets.

We are looking for an experienced, creative and highly proactive individual to provide hands-on events management support in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

As we are growing exponentially, so does the profile and scale of the events we organise and partner with.

The role entails supporting the Events and Marketing teams with the delivery of CPC events and Third Party events, including high profile summits, roundtables, workshops, and hackathons amongst others.

The Events Officer will also be responsible for managing commercial and internal clients who hire our event spaces in the Urban Innovation Centre.

Our projects are exciting and cutting-edge, but also complex and challenging, typically combining innovative approaches and new technologies with partners from adjacent or very different sectors, in order to solve different city challenges in the UK and internationally.

Our areas of expertise are varied from public policy and planning to digital and data, through to design in its many forms.

Key responsibilities*- Ensure the delivery of Connected Places Catapult events in line with the organisation's KPIs and Marketing targets

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across marketing and the wider organisation, providing eventoriented advice and input to shape event programmes and objectives
  • Liaise with, and manage, all relevant event suppliers to deliver bestinclass physical, virtual and hybrid events
  • Work with colleagues in Events and Marketing to proactively drive the promotion of events through different marketing channels
  • Contribute to the development of an Events Centre of Excellence and implement associated, scalable event processes leading to efficiencies within the events team
  • Manage event budgets and liaise with Finance, Procurement and Legal teams
  • Deliver postevent reporting with datadriven analysis including attendee feedback, goal attainment, and recommendations for future event improvements
  • Support with Third Party (external) events delivery and partnership management

Requirements:


  • Essential: _
  • Proven track record in delivering physical, virtual and hybrid events, ideally in a corporate marketing team
  • Proven track record of assuming ownership, moving quickly to implement ideas, and delivering results in a fastpaced environment
  • Experience in researching and creating event programmes, managing endtoend event logistics and proactively inputting into event marketing
  • Experience in building dashboards & report templates to evaluate, measure and report on strategic effectiveness and ROI for events
  • Selfstarter and selflearner constantly looking to deepen their knowledge
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
  • Experience of working with diverse stakeholders at all levels and structuring event objectives
  • Proven ability to work well with multidisciplinary, distributed teams and ensuring they deliver against event timelines
  • Experience of working with venues and other event suppliers
  • Experience of managing a venue with commercial revenue targets attached
  • Experience of working with commercial clients and negotiating contracts and deliverables
  • Experience working with Hopin virtual event platform or the like
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail and communication skills
  • Superior interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
