About the role
One of the main roles of the Marine Wildlife Survey (MWS) team is to analyse and report on data collected using digital aerial surveys (birds and marine megafauna) - particularly offshore to provide a world class consultancy service in the offshore wind, water, utilities and other sectors.
As Technical Specialist within the MWS team you will work closely with our Associate Directors and a range of Consultants within our MWS and Geospatial Sector to provide support and technical knowledge around data analysis and workflows; supporting them with dealing with all aspects of the consultancy process to allow them to provide high class products and services to clients, bringing in new projects through to production of high-quality scientific reports and ensuring continued improvements.
This role offers much flexibility and will be considered on a remote/home based/hybrid or full-time office based; although regardless of your preferred working arrangement there will still be the occasional requirement to come to one of our national offices as and when required.
About you
You will have extensive background in ecology and/or marine wildlife with strong analytical and data analysis skills, including proficiency and experience of handling spatial data.
You'll have experience of handling image data and image processing coupled with a track record of mentoring and developing people.
You'll have excellent communication skills, including technical writing and presentation skills.Furthermore you'll enjoy working collaboratively with project teams, stakeholders and clients. You'll have a strong attention to detail, be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
