THE ROLE:

Transport Coordinator

Join us as our Transport Coordinator within our Transport Team.

In this role you will deliver the transport operational coordination for the depot on a 4/on 4/off night shift pattern.

You will ensure that all operational activities are undertaken in a safe, legal and cost-effective manner.


THE SALARY
£26,000 per annum, depending on experience.

OFFICE BASED
This role will be based at our site in Preston PR5 0XD.


KEY RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Despatch drivers/loads and managing the trailer parks on site.
  • Brief and debrief Drivers.
  • Daily face to face customer interaction and liaise with company workshops/service providers to ensure vehicle maintenance standards are met.
  • Produce appropriate documentation and ensure EU drivers legislation is adhered to.
  • Provide updates on collections & deliveries to the client.
  • Making bookings in for deliveries to customers.
  • Updating customers with delivery detail in real time.
  • Assorted general administrative tasks, filing and keeping of records.
  • Dealing with queries and follow an escalation process as required.
  • Adhering to and managing H&S on site.
  • Overseeing 3rd party transport companies.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Qualifications. A Level 2 in English & Maths

Experience. Industry knowledge of distribution, logistics and supply chain management. Experience of a complex logistics operations. Transport Planning / Operational background preferred. Knowledge of relevant legislation (drivers hours / Vehicle weights / dimensions etc. ) desirable. Experience of data Input and use of computer systems. Competent in standard PC suites i.e.; office, excel, outlook.

Communication. You will have excellent communication skills, spoken and written. Team player.

Planning & Organisation. Excellent attention to detail. Good organisational skills. Good at task management and prioritisation. Able to work unsupervised, continually managing time and prioritising work to meet tight deadlines. Ability to work under pressure. Flexible attitude to working hours.
