What's involved (You will receive full training on these):

  • Develop general understanding of freight forwarding
  • Using Cargowise (ERP) according for daily input and reporting of data for domestic and international movements of goods, and using other portals for shipments
  • Show an understanding and ability to follow job processes as laid out in AEO Code of Practice
  • General office administration duties
  • Helping in other branch departments as required
  • Introduction to HMRC declarations via CDS Customs Declaration Service
  • Introduction to customer communications

What do they need from you:

  • Ambition to grow and develop
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including with other departments, suppliers and customers
  • Strong computer and digital skills

Salary:

£15,500 per annum


Working week:

Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm, 37.5 hours per week


Company benefits:


  • You will be entitled to receive 20 days paid vacation per complete calendar year, in addition to 8 statutory public holidays per complete calendar year.
  • This annual holiday entitlement will increase after 1 complete year's continuous service by one day for each further completed years' service up to a maximum entitlement of 24 days holiday annually.
  • You will be awarded this additional day on 1st January following the completion of the qualifying period of service.

Future prospects:

90% of QA apprentices secure permanent employment after completing: this is 20% higher than the national average.


Important information:

Throughout your apprenticeship you are supported by your skills coach and your account manager.

They work with your line manager to ensure you settle in, help you develop all the skills you need to pass your assessments, and can provide one to one support.

At the end, as well as the valuable experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification.
