We are excited to be recruiting for counsellors here at Connect Health for our Talking Therapies (previously known as IAPT) counselling service in Hounslow.

We are seeking someone who is passionate and has the purpose to make a significant difference to people's lives while feeling trusted and empowered to do so.


What you will do in the role

  • Drawing on developed specialist skills in assessment and psychological therapies, as a counsellor you will provide high quality clinical assessments and review sessions whilst working closely with local stakeholders such as GP's and employment support services etc.
  • You will hold a clinical caseload providing IAPT compliant counselling at step 3 of the stepped care model, including more complex cases as appropriate, for individuals assessed and diagnosed with depression that are deemed suitable as meeting the criteria for counselling.
  • You will work within the remit of the accredited Counselling for Depression (CfD) training and support clinical and operational leaders in aspects of risk management and therapist support
  • You'll manage any issues that arise across the service, and support the clinical aspects of service development
  • At Connect Health we're keen to innovate, especially when it comes to enhancing client outcomes, so you'll be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of psychological therapies and use this knowledge to drive and embrace change whilst stiving for excellence
  • Above all, you will be a passionate clinician, committed to driving the Talking Therapies / IAPT provision within our communities, and taking pride in making a difference to people's lives

What you will bring to the role...

  • To be successful in the role of Counsellor you'll:_
  • Be qualified to degree level (MSc, MA, or Diploma level in Counselling)
  • Be a BACP/UKCP accredited therapist who also meets requirements to deliver Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression
  • Have significant counselling experience post qualification, either in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Have experience of providing time limited psychotherapeutic interventions in a range of formats
  • Have experience of carrying out assessments of client support needs, including risk assessments
  • Have experience and demonstrate commitment to working with multiagency partnerships
  • Demonstrate working with people who have experienced a common mental health problem
  • Demonstrate skills in assessing risk and a working knowledge of managing/supervising complex risk assessment in practice
  • Have experience of case management
  • Have proven experience of delivering counselling over the phone and / or via video conferencing mechanisms
