This role is part-time, on a basis of 21 hours per week.
The team is open to these hours being worked across either a three (Mon-Wed), four or five day pattern and this can be discussed during the recruitment stage.
This role is a fixed-term, maternity cover contract (for approx. 12 months).Job purpose
The Payroll Officer will work within the Finance Team, in collaboration with the HR
Team, to process the payroll for UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) staff, Doping Control Personnel
(DCP) and National Trainers (NT).
Job facts and figures
Responsible for:
- processing monthly payroll for approximately 80 staff members
- processing bi-weekly payroll for approximately 250 DCP and 50 NT
- providing high quality, customer focussed and proactive support to our DCP and NT
- maintaining, developing, and enhancing internal and external relationships, primarily with DCP and NT
Key result areas
DCP & NT Payroll
- Checking and authorising of all fee claims, including travel and subsistence, for
- Working in collaboration with the Logistics and Education Teams to ensure an efficient claims process
- Processing of biweekly payroll to agreed deadlines
- Processing and administration of pension contributions (NEST), including enrolling eligible DCP and NT
- System support for DCP and NT, providing remote assistance and IT trouble shooting where necessary
Staff Payroll
- Calculate and process any changes to the staff payroll
- Work in collaboration with the HR Team to ensure relevant supporting documents are provided and appropriate approvals received
- Ensure payroll calculations are correct and processed according to company policies and statutory legislation
- Operate LPFA pension contributions
- Monthly reconciliations of payroll control accounts
General
- Resolve any payroll discrepancies and respond to queries in a timely manner
- Take ownership of annual and monthly duties, including payroll reconciliations, statutory returns, benefits in kind, and payments to HMRC and pension providers
- Liaise with HMRC and pension providers on any queries
- Support for external and internal audits, providing the appropriate information where necessary
- Act as a joint system administrator for the expense and payroll systems, ensuring they are maintained with accurate and complete data
- Assist the Finance Team with any adhoc duties as reasonably required

Person specification
Qualifications/experience/knowledge
- Relevant experience in a small f inance and/or payroll team
- Sound knowledge and experience of payroll legislation
- Previous responsibility for running inhouse payroll
- Experience using Access Dimensions and Select Pay desirable, but not essential
